a quiet corner of the internet

The Hollow
Understory

Notes from somewhere deep in the trees. Written under no name in particular.

This is a small, slow blog. No comments, no tracking, no name attached — just entries, posted when there's something worth writing down. Start below, or wander to the archive.

On writing without a name

There's a particular kind of freedom in publishing something nobody will trace back to you at a dinner party. Not because the words are secret, but because they get to exist on their own, judged only by what they say rather than who said it. I've rewritten this first entry four times, and each time I kept softening it because I imagined someone I know reading it. Writing here, under no name, that impulse finally quiets down.

Field notes on slowness

Everything about the internet I grew up on moved slower on purpose. A blog updated when the writer had something to say, not on a schedule dictated by an algorithm. I'm trying to bring some of that back for myself — no publishing calendar, no growth targets, just entries when they're ready.

More soon.

Who's writing this

Nobody in particular — just a name that doesn't attach to anything else. This blog exists to write freely, without an audience of people who already know me shaping what gets said. If you've found this, welcome. There's no comment section, but the writing is the whole point.
